I sat within the crowd
The music was loud
I eyed the dance floor
There you were
You were with some girls.

I stopped breathing
My world spinning
To the music you both swaying
Close, both of you were hugging
Sweet soft whispers you both exchanging.

My heart ached
As I waited for you to come
While I was asked to dance by some
Then you walked towards my direction
I almost drowned in anticipation
But you pass by without a glance
Then I knew I didn’t have a chance

I guess I just wasn’t pretty
Or as sexy, or as witty
But like an addiction
Only with you I get satisfaction
